The supply of running rigging to the VO65 Class has possibly been one of the largest running rigging projects ever undertaken…….and we are doing it again!
With more than 6,500 items spliced for the last edition, the One Design project was deemed to be a great success and we were asked to remain the Running Rigger Supplier for the 2017/2018 Volvo Ocean Race.
Continuing on from the 2014/2015 edition, Offshore Rigging Services has been working non-stop to supply all of the running rigging for the refits of the VO65s, the new build and the pre-race assembly period.
We are supported by a great team in the workshop in Palma de Mallorca and as well as our onsite rigggers at each stopover. Our crew will thoroughly inspect and service all the boats to insure reliability and guarantee all yachts adhere to the strict One Design parameters.
Expect this edition to be even more exciting and challenging with the highest level of sailors on each boat and the addition of more miles in the Southern Ocean.
Rich and the team from Offshore Rigging Services have been part of the Boatyard for The Volvo Ocean Race from day One.
The success of the VO65 in recent editions of the race (closest finishes in history, most reliable boats in history of the race) came down to the experience, hard work and ensuring The Boatyard were staffed with the best technicians in the world and this certainly goes for the ORS team.
Having developed a pro-active service and replacement programme ORS ensured the VO65’s made it around the world without any issues at all.
